Strange Worlds

The show, curated by the director of Fondazione Fotografia Modena, Filippo Maggia, collects 70 works, including photos, videos and installations of 26 artists coming from every part of the world: Claudia Andujar (Switzerland/Brasil), Philip Kwame Apagya (Ghana), Marika Asatiani (Georgia), Yto Barrada (France), Jodi Bieber (South Africa), Nikhil Chopra (India), Cao Fei (China), Yang Fudong (China), Laura Glusman (Argentina), David Goldblatt (South Africa), Pieter Hugo (South Africa), Amar Kanwar (India), Anastasia Khoroshilova (Russia), Goddy Leye (Cameroon), Ma Liuming (China), Daniel Naudè (South Africa), George Osodi (Nigeria), Marco Pando (Peru), Rosângela Rennó (Brasil), Mauro Restiffe (Brasil), Ahlam Shibli (Palestine), Raghubir Singh (India), Ketaki Sheth (India), Sebastián Szyd (Argentina), Guy Tillim (South Africa), David Zynk Yi (Peru).

The subject of the exhibit is the representation of other worlds, near and far, where social, cultural and religious dynamics merge, creating untold stories: “an exciting succession of faces and traditions”, “an interactive mosaic” as explained by the curator Maggia, able to composing a “photography real and concrete of our age”.

The exhibition opened on July the 9th in Modena, Italy,  at Foro Boario, via Bono da Nonantola 2.
